Well, hello again!
If you read my last blog post, you’ll know that I’ve been finding my way back to blogging after a bit of a break. Life has certainly been keeping me busy, but there’s something else I’ve been working on behind the scenes over the last few months.
My health.
In June, I started a new chapter in my health journey. After years of struggling with my weight and various health challenges, I knew I wanted to start making some changes for myself and my future.
And this week, I reached a milestone that I’m incredibly proud of…
I’ve lost THREE STONE! 🎉
Even writing those words feels a little surreal.
It’s been almost three months since I started this journey, and while I’m incredibly happy with my progress, I’ve come to realise that some of the biggest changes have absolutely nothing to do with the number on the scales.
It’s the little everyday moments that have really made me stop and appreciate how far I’ve come.

It’s the little moments that mean the most ❤️
One of the biggest reasons I wanted to focus on my health was to be able to do more with Little Miss.
This summer, we enjoyed some lovely time away as a family, and there were a couple of moments that really made me realise how much things have started to change.
One of those was sitting on the beach, making sandcastles with my little girl.
It sounds like such a simple thing, doesn’t it?
But being able to sit there, making sandcastles and enjoying the moment without feeling like I was going to faint, become unwell or have a flare-up meant more to me than I can really put into words.
I wasn’t worrying about how I was feeling or whether I needed to stop. I could just enjoy being there with her, and I wore shorts to the beach for the first time in about 20 years!
And then there was our time at the caravan.
Dancing with Little Miss, being silly together and just enjoying those lovely little moments that make family holidays so special.
I found myself being more present, more active and able to enjoy things that previously might have felt much harder.
And those are the moments that have really stayed with me.
Of course, I’m proud of the weight I’ve lost, but being able to make those memories with my little girl is what makes this journey feel so worthwhile.
I want more of those moments. More adventures, more dancing, more sandcastles and more time enjoying life together.
Finding a different approach to food
Another big change has been the way I’m approaching food.
For years, the word ‘diet’ has always seemed to come with a list of things you can’t have.
But this time, I’m trying to approach things differently.
I’m focusing on nourishing my body, making sure I’m getting enough protein and finding a balance that works for me.

If I fancy something, I’m no longer automatically thinking, “Oh, I can’t have that because I’m on a diet.”
Instead, I’m thinking about how I can adapt it to suit my needs while still enjoying the foods I love.
I’m also learning to listen to my body, recognise when I’m comfortably full and enjoy meals without feeling like I need to finish everything on my plate.
It’s a different way of thinking about food, and one that I’m really enjoying exploring.
I’ve been having lots of fun experimenting in the kitchen, so I’ll be sharing some of the recipes I’ve been making here on the blog very soon!
The changes I’m noticing
It’s funny how sometimes you don’t realise just how much things have changed until you look back.
Yes, my clothes are fitting differently, and I can see changes in photographs, but it’s the everyday things that have really surprised me.
Feeling more able to get out and about, enjoying activities with Little Miss and finding myself wanting to do more.
I’m still very much on my journey, and I know there will be days when things feel harder than others.
Life certainly hasn’t slowed down, and juggling work, family life and everything else that comes with being a busy mum can still be exhausting!
But I’m learning to make time for myself and recognise that looking after my own wellbeing is important too.
And I’m proud of myself for that.
What’s next?
I’m excited to see what the coming months bring.
I’ll be continuing to share my journey, the progress I’m making and the little changes I’m noticing along the way.
And, of course, there will still be plenty of the usual family adventures, beauty, home and lifestyle content that I love sharing.
I’ve also been enjoying spending more time in the kitchen, so keep an eye out for some new recipes coming to the blog very soon!
If you’d like to follow along with my journey, you can find me over on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, where I’ll be sharing regular updates, everyday family life and all the little moments in between.
Thank you, as always, for being here and for all the lovely messages and encouragement.
Here’s to more family adventures, more memories, more delicious food and continuing to find my way back to me.
Until next time,
Gemma x
